+ overview
Approximately 94.5% of Malaysian adults experience gum health issues, with the prevalence rising to an alarming 96% among adults aged 35 to 44. Even more concerning, 38.2% of Malaysian adults are affected by periodontitis, a serious form of gum disease that can lead to tooth loss if left untreated.

+ What is Periodontitis
Periodontal disease encompasses a range of gum diseases, from gingivitis to periodontitis, caused by bacteria in dental plaque. If plaque is not removed regularly, it leads to gingivitis—characterized by red, swollen gums—which can be reversed with proper oral care and professional cleaning.
Risk factors for periodontitis include age, stress, genetics, smoking, and systemic diseases. Symptoms may not always include bleeding or pain, making yearly periodontal examinations essential for early detection and prevention.
Without treatment, gingivitis can progress to periodontitis, where bacteria multiply and produce toxins, resulting in bone and tissue destruction, potentially leading to tooth loss. Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory condition requiring ongoing treatment and management.
+ Our Treatments
01
Non Surgical Periodontal Treatment
Scaling and Root Planing treats early gum disease by removing plaque, calculus, and bacteria — promoting healing and reducing pockets with minimal discomfort over a few sessions.

02
Guided Bone Regeneration
Guided Bone Regeneration (GTR) addresses bone loss from gum disease and prepares the jaw for implants. A membrane is placed to block soft tissue, allowing bone to regenerate and stabilize teeth.

03
Crown Lengthening
Crown Lengthening exposes more of the tooth by removing excess gum and bone. It’s done to repair damage below the gum line or to correct a gummy smile — restoring function and enhancing aesthetics, often with same-day, painless results.

04
Gum Tissue Grafting
Gum Tissue Grafting treats gum recession, which can cause sensitivity, looseness, or tooth loss. Tissue from the roof of the mouth or a donor is used to restore and strengthen the gum line. Grafting is typically recommended for recession over 2mm, especially to protect front teeth and enhance the smile.

Periodontal Treatment Explained
What is Surgical Periodontal Therapy?
Surgical periodontal therapy involves the surgical removal of diseased gum and bone tissue, as well as minimally invasive procedures aimed at regenerating lost periodontal structures. One such approach is periodontal regeneration surgery, such as Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR) where only a small area of gum tissue is exposed, thoroughly cleaned, and treated with biomaterials to promote healing and tissue regeneration. These procedures are typically performed under local anesthesia.
What is Non Surgical Periodontal Therapy?
Non-surgical periodontal therapy involves deep cleaning below the gum line, including root surface debridement for periodontal pockets deeper than 4mm. This procedure is typically carried out under local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.
Is the treatment painful?
Before administering local anesthesia, we apply topical anesthetic gel to minimize discomfort. While you may still feel a brief ‘pinch’ when the injection is given, the anesthesia quickly takes effect, making both non-surgical and surgical procedures relatively pain-free.
