+ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Implant Treatment Explained
What is the process for getting a dental implant?
Dental implants require precise planning, expert skill, and advanced materials for lasting results. While we prioritize preserving natural teeth, when implants are needed, we use world-class techniques and materials to ensure lasting function and natural aesthetics.
What is full arch (All On 4/6) Implant Treatment?
Full-arch implant treatment involves replacing all teeth in a single jaw using a bridge supported by 4, 6, or more dental implants. This treatment is typically planned with advanced digital tools to ensure precision and predictability. After implant placement, patients usually wear a temporary bridge during the healing period, allowing time for proper osseointegration between the implants and the jawbone before the final restoration is placed.
What is immediate implant treatment?
Immediate implant placement refers to placing a dental implant directly into the socket immediately after a tooth is extracted. The implant is then left to osseointegrate, typically over 3 to 6 months, before the final restoration is placed. This approach is suitable only for carefully selected cases.
Immediate loading involves placing a temporary crown on the implant immediately after insertion. Unlike the final crown, this temporary crown is made of different material and is adjusted so that it does not make contact with the opposing teeth during biting or chewing. This adjustment is important to protect the implant during the healing and integration period. Immediate loading is particularly beneficial in the aesthetic zone (the front teeth), where appearance is a priority.
What is sinus lifting surgery?
Sinus lift surgery is performed in the upper jaw when the floor of the maxillary sinus is positioned low, resulting in insufficient bone height for dental implant placement. This procedure can be done using either a crestal (minimally invasive) approach or a lateral (traditional) approach, depending on the amount of available bone.
What Post Operative Care is needed?
During the first 24 hours after your procedure, it’s important to take special care to prevent bleeding. We recommend avoiding hot food and drinks, vigorous rinsing or gargling, the use of straws, and any sucking actions, as these can cause or worsen bleeding.
Can implant last forever?
With proper oral hygiene and regular professional care, dental implants can last for many years. However, the implant crown, like natural teeth, is subject to wear and tear over time and may require repair or replacement in the future. Certain medical conditions or habits, such as smoking or teeth grinding can increase the risk of implant complications. These risk factors will be thoroughly discussed with you by our specialist to ensure long-term success.
